Welcome to our photography tips page! Here you'll find answers to common questions and helpful advice to improve your family photos with Jepsession

FAQs
We frequently get asked similar questions about booking and preparing for a photography session. Here are some of the most common questions and our answers to help you plan your perfect family photoshoot:
- When should I book my session?
I recommend booking at least 3–4 weeks in advance to get your preferred date, especially during spring and fall. - Where will the session take place?
I offer sessions outdoors in natural light or at a location that feels meaningful to your family. I can also suggest beautiful spots if you’re unsure! - How long is the session?
Most family sessions last about 30 minutes (for mini sessions) and 60 minutes (for one hour sessions). This gives us time to get both posed and candid shots without feeling rushed — especially with little ones! - What should we wear?
I recommend neutral, comfortable outfits in coordinating (or matching) colors. I also provide a style guide after booking to help you plan with ease. - What if my kids don’t cooperate?
Don’t worry — that’s totally normal! I follow the kids’ lead, keep things playful, and focus on connection over perfection. Some of the best moments are the unexpected ones. - Do you help with posing?
Absolutely! I’ll guide you into natural poses and give gentle prompts to bring out real expressions and interaction. Nothing too stiff or awkward! - How many photos do we get, and when?
You’ll receive a curated online gallery with 15 edited images (for 1 hour sessions) or 10 edited images (for 30 minute sessions) within 2–3 weeks of your session. You can download, share, or order prints directly. - What if it rains or someone gets sick?
I totally understand — life happens! We’ll reschedule at no extra cost if weather or illness makes it hard to proceed.

Helpful Photography Tips
Here are some quick and easy tips to help you prepare for your photography session:
- Dress in what feels good
Choose clothes that are comfortable and make you feel like you. Soft, neutral colors work beautifully on camera, but feel free to add a pop of color or texture — especially if it reflects your culture or style. Avoid large logos or busy patterns — they can distract from your beautiful faces. - Keep it simple for kids
Let little ones be themselves — giggles, wiggles, and all. You don’t need to prep them to “smile perfectly.” I’ll guide them with games and gentle prompts to capture their natural joy. Bring a snack or small comfort item if it helps! - Focus on each other, not the camera
You don’t need to “pose” — just be present. Hug, laugh, play, walk together. I’ll give you direction when needed, but the most beautiful photos come from genuine moments. - Be on time and well-rested
Try to plan ahead so you’re not rushed. Being on time helps us get the best light. A little rest and hydration go a long way, too! - Let go of perfection
Trust me — even if things feel chaotic, there’s beauty in the real. I’m here to capture the love, not perfection. So relax, enjoy each other, and let the moments unfold. - Bring cultural or personal touches
Want to wear traditional outfits? Include a special item or heirloom? Please do! I love celebrating the uniqueness of every family. - Ask me anything!
